我看了一下剧情 很是我喜欢的类型  就像当初看好越狱期待它开播一样  我有开始了新的期待

Jay, Tyler and Will were friends who had spent the last two years in grad school living together. They were about to go on a summer journey, but a simple prank to rollerblade through one of New York's most famous museums made Jay and Tyler prime suspects in a terrorist bombing that destroyed the museum a few seconds later. Jay and Tyler hoped that Will could clear their name, but discovered that they had no way of proving Will ever existed. The F.B.I. reported that a man matching Will's description was found dead at the bombing site, and that the bombing was triggered by a call from Jay's cell phone, leading Jay and Tyler to believe that Will may have set them up. Now Jay and Tyler are on the run from the F.B.I. and must get to the bottom of the conspiracy that has destroyed their lives.

 

      故事开始与三个好朋友Jay，Taylor和Will的纽约博物馆的疯狂冒险，will怂恿二人脚踩单排滑轮大闹博物馆，并称自己会录下这一“极限运动”，然后约定在博物馆外拐角处会合。但是Jay和Taylor来的约定地点却没有遇见Will，打电话给他时，却听到奇怪的的话了：“我很抱歉这么做”……话音刚落，博物馆发生剧烈的爆炸，火光四起……纽约再次遭受恐怖袭击
      FBI通过监控录像锁定大闹博物馆并且爆炸后逃离现场的二人为头号嫌疑犯。二人这才知道自己被朋友陷害了，打电话给FBI声称自己的无辜，并说他们该找的人是Will Traveler（剧名的由来）。可是FBI查找这个名字却是——查无此人。二人想找到Will以前的照片来指正他，但是却发现照片上的Will总是有意无意的遮住自己的脸……
      被彻底陷害的二人一边在曼哈顿的都市丛林里狼狈的躲避FBI和NYPD的搜捕，一边努力想找到失踪的朋友证明自己的清白……过程中又被神秘的黑人男子所救，声称是唯一相信他们的故事的人……

At least:至少 pretend to do sth:装着做某事 mourn: 哀悼, 忧伤 Susan看到母亲在和卖ICE CREAM的男人调情就很诧异把她拉了出来，对她说到，她才和MORTY分手2个星期，怎么又和别人的男人调情起来，至少也得装着对已失去的感情感到悲伤。而Sophie的回答是It's called moving on with your life.其实我觉得Sophie的心态很好，失恋没什么大不了，人一生中不可能只谈一次恋爱，如果一段感情结束了，就伤心得以为全世界没什么东西值得自己留恋的，就从此萎靡不正的话，很不值得，每段感情都有它存在的意义，既然缘已尽，就不要再不肯放手了，重新振作起来，投入到生活中，寻找下一段的感情，毕竟生活中我们除了爱情还有很多。只是Sophie的过度期也太快了，才2周不到的时间，呵呵，或许外国人爱的快，忘的也快吧。

I'll be broke：破产的意思。cut up：这里可以理解为停止 BGAY对婚姻的定义相当有趣，嫁给某人就是因为可以SHOPPING，在DH中我最不喜欢的就是GABY这一人物角色，太势利了，凭着自己有个好身材，顺利的完成了自己所有的梦想，还记得前几集中描述GABY是如何运用了3个夜晚，顺利的从贫困中摆脱出来，更可怕的是他15岁的时候就开始酝酿一系列的转变计划。但我本人对EVA，没有任何攻击，只是针对剧中的人物角色，大家不要误会了。

15．Andrew: Look, I love vanilla ice-cream, but every now and then I'm probably gonna be in the mood for chocolate. You know what I mean? Andrew很聪明，做了个很恰当的比喻，类似的比喻在FRIENDS中第一季也出现过，ROSS得知自己的妻子是同性恋后很苦恼，说自己再也不可能找到自己爱的女人了，但JOEY说，她应该去尝试些不同类型的女孩，于是她把不同性格的女孩也用ICE CREAM来比喻，居然和这里一样，难道外国人就没什么其他东西可以做比喻的吗？

The state shouldn't have issued me a license. license：这里只的是驾驶执照，听一个在美国的朋友说，在美国考驾驶执照很容易，给你辆车，自己开，开一段路，然后拐个弯靠边停下后就PASS了，不象我们国内要培训2个月，再参加各种考核，例如测方移位，大、小路的考试。在美国买车也很便宜，牌照更便宜，听说200美金就可以买到，哪象我们国内，牌照还要竟拍的，而且还限量发放。上海的私车牌照的竟拍都要平均成交价在38000元左右，也太离谱里了。不过在国外汽车保险到是不小的开销，有时甚至比买辆二手车还贵。不过万一发生什么交通事故，磕磕碰碰的都不用自己掏钱，全有保险公司承担，呵呵，也不错。

Episode 01.17 - There Won't Be Trumpets
1．    Mary Alice Voiceover:"Gus, the custodian, dreams of someday winning the lottery and quitting his thankless job." Custodian：管理人; 保管人; 监督人 lottery：彩票 quit：离开, 辞职, 停止，quit是个很常用的词，中途退学也可以用 quit，公司辞职也可用quit，比较强调个人特色。
2．    Rex: "I can't believe it. Two months from graduation and he gets expelled."
Bree: "You know we are just lucky that that security guard did not press charges."
Get expel：开除 press charge：上诉
3．    Bree: "They're brochures for youth detention centers." Detention：拘留, 禁闭 youth detention centers：少教所的意思。
Carlos: "I like the Lexington mahogany with gold leaf. It comes with a pink velvet interior and drapes. Plus it's hand-engraved so in case of a flood or earthquake, they'll at least be able to know which one is hers." 8．Rex: "The next time you touch your mother like that, I'm gonna throw you through this wall! You understand me?" REX影响中Andrew没有坏到非要送少教所，但他看到Andrew踢BREE的时候，他意识到他的儿子有多么的可怕了，他的这段话，可以感到他对BREE的感情，真的是很深，至于affair也是一时糊涂吧。
9. Tom: "It was a close call." close call: 千钧一发
10.结束语 Mary Alice Voiceover:"We all honor heroes for different reasons. Laundry: 洗衣店, 这里是指要洗的衣服 hamper：妨碍, 牵制，这里是指BREE发现的CONDOM

take away：取走 penis: 阴茎，男性生殖器，记得以前上英语课的时候，老师说 the pen is 要分开来写，不要写到一起去了，终于明白他的用意了。
4．    Mary Alice Voiceover:"Each new morning in suburbia brings with it a new set of lies. Little white lies told not to hurt." A set of ：一组，一套 white lie：善意的谎言
5．Lynette: "Honestly, I don't think Mike did it either, but if we don't call, we're guilty of withholding evidence."guilty of sth：有罪，犯过错。Withhold: 这里是保留的意思。Evidence：]证据, 证物
6．Tom: "It just doesn't make any sense to me. I mean, I'm Peterson's go-to guy, so how does Tim Doogan, the biggest blow-hard in the office get promoted to vice president over me?" make sense:有意义 get promoted：获得晋升 promotion：升职，获得提拔
7．Cop: "Up against the car! You have the right to remain silent. Anything you do say can be used against you in a court of law..."这句话是不是太熟悉了，嫌疑犯被警察抓住后说的，大家都知道中文是什么意思吧“你有权保持沉默，但你所说的将成为成堂供词”也来了解下英语是怎么说的。
8．Danielle: "Because I'm planning on having sex and I don't want to get pregnant." Pregnant：怀孕
9．Bree: "Oh, sweetheart, just because you give a boy sex doesn't mean you'll get love in return."这句话很有道理，所有MM们一定要记牢
10．Gabrielle: "Have you seen our checking account lately? We're broke. And then we have the mortgage payment coming up. We have property taxes.." We're broke：是我们没钱了，破产的意思，不是什么坏了。Mortgage：抵押
11．Tom: "I did. You told me to stop being a shrinking violet and to step up." a shrinking violet：畏首畏尾的人。原意为“正在发蔫的紫罗兰”。紫罗兰在背阴的地方悄悄地开花，所以violet是谦虚的象征，代表“腼腆的人”，但加上shrinking意思就有了变化。同样的修辞方法还有很多，我来具体介绍下吧。
1、a wise guy 骄傲自大的人。这里的wise并不表示“聪明”，相反它含有讽刺的意味。Alic’s all right, I guess, but sometimes he’s such a wise guy.
2、a backseat driver 不在权限范围内而指手划脚的人。在美国开车出门是许多人生活的一部分 。开车的技术当然每个人都不一样，一般来说，开车的人都不太愿意被别人指指点点。所以我们把那些喜欢在后面老是给开车的人提出不必要的指导和建议的人叫做backseat driver。
3、a wet blanket 令人扫兴的人。这一表达的来源是：当发生火灾的时候，为了扑火，把湿毛毯盖到火上。后用来指在社交场合泼冷水，令人扫兴的人。I’m sorry to be such a wet blanket, but I’m afraid I have to go home now.
4、a late bloomer大器晚成的人。原意是“迟开的花”，与人大器晚成相似。
5、an apple polisher 拍马屁者。过去美国学生为了讨好老师，把擦得光光亮亮的苹果递给老师。本词组源于此。You should take much care of him, and he’s a real apple polisher.你可得多留心那小子，他可是个货真价实的马屁精。
6、an ugly customer 粗暴的人。ugly是ugly behaviour（行为丑恶）的意思，指使用暴力，威胁他人。customer原意为“顾客”，转用于表示“一沾上边就会有麻烦的人”。
7、a visiting fireman 远方的客人。原指从地方前来的团体客人。他们从地方前来参加大会，感到一身轻松，吃喝玩乐，挥金如土。现多指重要的商业伙伴或高级官员或公司老板，是需要殷勤招待的客人。I’m behind in my work because our office had three groups of visiting firemen this week.本周我们公司有三批远方来客，因此我耽搁了工作。
8、an Indian giver 送东西给人而日后往回要的人。这一表达法的语源是：在过去，某些印第安部落有送礼必须还礼的习俗。因此，有不少印第安人为了得到新奇的礼物而向白人送礼。后来就把一般给人送礼而指望别人还礼的人都称为“印第安送礼者”。Toby may have given you these books, but don’t start celebrating yet. He’s famous for being a Indian giver.托比可能送给你这几本书了，但是不要高兴的太早。他送东西又往回要，是出了名的。
9、a name-dropper以仿佛很熟悉的口吻谈到著名人物的人。drop是“若无其事地说”。本词语指由于虚荣心作怪，到处胡乱提及著名人士的名字以提高自己的身价的人。Most social climbers are name-droppers.绝大部分削尖脑袋往上流社会钻营的人，大多喜欢提著名人士的名字。
10、an eager beaver工作卖力的人。beaver海狸是一种哺乳动物，前肢比后肢短，趾有爪，擅长挖掘，忙于筑坝。所以用eager beaver来喻指“干劲十足的人，积极、努力又热心的人”。He seems never to know what tiredness is, and he’s really an eager beaver.他似乎从不知什么叫累，真是个用功的人。
11、mall rats喜欢逛购物中心的年轻人。mall是购物中心，有的规模小，有的规模大。一到周末各地的购物中心都有买东西的人，有的人不见得买什么，只是在里面象老鼠一样钻来钻去。I used to be a typical mall rat hanging around watching the crowds, especially the girls. But now I join the football club, and I have no time.我过去是个典型的逛购物中心迷，在那里观看人群，特别是女孩子。但是现在我加入了足球俱乐部，就没有时间了。

2．Susan: "Well, whatever it was, that boy is seriously disturbed, and I've forbidden Julie from hanging out with him." Forbid sb from sth: 阻止，禁止某人做某事
3．Lynette: "You're capable of doing all sorts of things."Be capable of doing sth:有能力做某事
4．Paul: "Oh my god. I uh, had a standing order with the florist. I forgot to cancel it. Mary Alice was my wife. She passed away a few months ago." Florist：种花人 pass away：过世，去世。又到一年一次的情人节了，PAUL是跟花店关照过，每年这个时候会送MARY ALICE一大篮的花，今年他忘记取消了。这里的PAUL是爱她妻子，还是根本就是敷衍一下，如果是爱对方，不应该每年都自己准备礼物嘛，何必关照花店呢？今年当花店送来了花他才意识到是情人节，晕啊，到底PAUL爱MARY ALICE么？
5．Gabrielle: "No, Mikki, you're wrong. I wasn't acting like a diva. I left the boat show because that coordinator was making passes at me. It's not my fault." diva：歌剧中的首席女主角 make pass at sb：调戏某人。

2．    Julie: "Mom, I know you saw us kissing, but you've got to chill now." chill：原意是寒冷的意思，got to chill有冷静的意思，没什么大不了的，同等于be cool / calm down
3．    Helen: "Hello, Gabrielle. I don't believe you've met my husband, Bob."
HELEN的这句话，在美语口语中经常被用到，字面上直译是“我不相信你见过我的丈夫BOB”其实就是想介绍她的丈夫给GEBBY认识。不用翻译的很直接，就是我想让你认识下谁的意思。

Company不是公司的意思，而是陪同，陪伴

5．    Lynette: "You better finish those brussel sprouts. And don't think I can't see them hidden under your macaroni." brussel sprouts：一种蔬菜吧，我在网上查了下，国内好象没有的。Lynette说吃这个可以长高，怪不得，外国人看上去比亚洲人高，饮食习惯不同吧。Don’t think I can’t…..双重否定表肯定，呵呵，写作文时要用，可以让文章有闪光点，以前上写作课，老师常说的一句话。
6．    Susan: "Oh, no good. My publisher's got me under the gun for something. What about Friday?" under the gun：在严密监视之下，SUSAN的意思是她的出版商急着让她交稿，SUSAN是画儿童图书插画的，这应该都知道吧。

Sin：罪，这个字很有典故哦，呵呵，不知道大家有没有看过1995年由David Fincher导演，Brad Pitt ,Morgan Freeman主演的“Se7en”译为“七宗罪”的影片。这里的罪就是SIN，圣经上说，人们一生下来就都有SIN，每个人都有。“Seven”在宗教上是个神秘的数字，这一点在旧约中有最充分的表现。上帝用七天造亚当，取出亚当的第七根肋骨造了夏娃。撒旦的原身是有七个头的火龙（《启示录》第十二章第三节写道:“有一条大红龙，七头，也戴着冠冕……火龙就是那古蛇，名叫魔鬼，又叫撒旦，是迷惑普天下的……”），撒旦也是地狱中最大的魔王，共有七名堕落天使被称为撒旦，其中最有名的莫过于路西弗 (Lurifer)，《失乐园》记述的其实就是路西弗，其余六名被称为撒旦魔王的堕落天使是：何撒兹勒 (Azazel，电影《驱魔人》中提及的恶魔。) 、别西人(Beelzubub)、彼列 (Beliel)、亚巴顿 (Abadon)、莫斯提马 (Mastema)、萨麦尔 (Samael)。到十六世纪后，基督教更直接用撒旦的七个恶魔的形象来代表七种罪恶（七宗罪，the seven deadly sins）：傲慢 (Pride)，嫉妒(Envy)，暴怒(Wrath)，懒惰(Sloth)，贪婪(Greed)，饕餮(Gluttony)，以及贪欲(Lust)。有兴趣的朋友可以看看这个网页：http://www.whitestonejournal.com/seven/ 有很详细的介绍。

怎么一犯错了，都想逃到加拿大去呢？我还以为只有中国那些贪官会选择逃到加国去，原来美国人也会有这种想法。CANADA到底是个国家呢？还是个避难所。

Ton:吨的意思，这里的a ton of messages是夸张的用法，美国人平时讲话是就很喜欢用夸张的方式，还记得上一集中TOM形容自己的IDEA嘛？那是用了KILLER一词，也是夸张手法。与a tone of很相象的还有thanks a million,就表示感谢的意思，但多了个million，也是夸张的手法。
8．    Carlos: "And what if she dies? People slip into comas all the time and never come out."
这里的come out：是苏醒的意思。
9．    Martha: "That's it! I can put up with your debauchery and your food theft, but I will not tolerate spying. I want you out." 大家有没有注意到，这句话中有2个相同意义的词。Put up with=tolerate:都是忍受的意思。
10．    Lynette: I hope this works. My sleep cycle is totally out of whack. I'm up all night, I'm dozing off during the day." out of whack：out of proper order or shape
11．    Dr. Chang: "I'm not licensed to write prescriptions." Prescriptions：处方，Dr.Chang的意思是，我没有开处方的执照，所以她不能为LNYYETTE开任何要，在美国，开处方药是严格要求的，不是什么医生都有资格开的。好象在上海的医院也有这种规定了，买处方要，一定有出示什么医生或医院开的处方单。

Episode 01.06 - Running to Stand Still

Retirement：退休 GBAY给YAOLIN的周薪有300刀，折算成RMB有2400/周，一个月可以有9600RMB，真多啊，做个清洁工就那么多钱，难怪这么多人想去USA。我看YAOLIN也不是什么全日制的，打一分工就有那么多钱赚，难怪偷度那么猖狂。美国真的是片地都有黄金么？
2．Carlos: "You know, baby, it would be a good idea if we cut back on expenses."
Gabrielle: "You expect me to take care of this place all by myself?"
cut back on sth: 缩减 take care of :照顾，照料
3.Paul: "Zach doesn't need a piece of glass to remember his mother. I'm out of newspaper." "Here, let's call it ten bucks for everything."
Ten bucks 就是10美圆的意思 buck原意是雄鹿, 公羊, 公兔，在美国口语中有美圆的意思。在美国很多小镇每年都会搞几次象社区跳蚤市场的活动，每家每户把自己家不用的，或者闲置的东西拿出来，卖给需要他们的邻居，当然价格很便宜，PAUL说他的东西一律10刀/件。
4. Carlos: "It's driving me crazy, mama. It could be any one of these guys she's having the affair with."
Mama Solis: "Don't worry about it. I'm not letting her out of my sight."
Drive sb crazy:使某人发疯 have the affair with sb:和某人有一腿 affair在DH中经常出现，就是我们说的外遇啊，婚外情，绯文等等。Out of sb sight:离开某人的视线。

  Do u have a second:意思是你有时间么？很常用的一句话，在你想打扰某人的时候可以用到。
4．Gabrielle:So why weren't you sitting with Mike tonight? I thought you two were becoming an item.   Item:这里是解释一对的意思，GABY是问SUSAN为什么不和MIKE坐在一起，她以为他们早成一对了呢。
5．Bree: Oh,please! I would have hosted it myself, only the kids are going away to the mountains tomorrow and there's camping equipment everywhere.
看得出么，这是句虚拟语句，BREE说，应该由她组织这次会议的，但因为她的孩子明天要去参加野营，家里堆放着野营要准备的东西，意思就是没地方。Equipment:是个不可数名词，原意是装备，设备的意思，这里是指为了去野营而准备的东西，泛指。
5．    Lynette: We need you to recommend Porter and Preston. We can't even get an interview.
Bree: Oh,you want me to recommend the twins?
Lynette:Yes, you can tell them how beautifully behaved the boys are.
Bree: So you want me to lie?
Lynette:Yeah. I thought that was understood.

这段对话中的BREE很有意思，说话太直接了，一听到LYNETTE希望她推荐，就说难道希望她撒谎么？LYNETTE的TWINS的确太顽皮，更本就没有什么好的表现。BREE补充到，她如果真的推荐他们进去，万一他们的表现被校方发现了，没有说的那么好，那以后BREE的话就没人相信了。LYNETTE回答说就算被发现了，他们早就入学啦。再说BREE不可能再有孩子了，担心什么呢？意思是不会再做任何推荐了。BREE想得到是很远，说如果她当上了祖母，她会介绍她的孙子孙女去。

7．     Daughter in law:字面上是法律定义下的女儿，其实就是媳妇的意思。又例如mother in low:岳母的意思，这样的用法很单一，所以很好理解。
8．    7．Lynette:Yes. Completely identical. You can't tell them apart. They're like bookends.
Identical：这里可以解释成双胞胎的意思，原意是相同的，一样的。 Tell:这里不解释告诉，而是区分的意思。
9．    Tom: Yeah,they bark and growl at each other。
这里我们看到TOM形容自己孩子的2个词相当夸张bark:原意是狗的叫声，growl是咆哮，都是绝对疯狂的意思了，呵呵，有父母这么形容自己的孩子的。其实我觉得老美在用词上真的是蛮有意思的，这里我们可以理解为相互玩耍，相互辩论打闹。其实小孩子都这样啊，尤其是双胞胎。还记得TOM有次说他们养了对terrorists(恐怖分子)么？而想而知他们的TWINS有多调皮了，不过我觉得2个小演员真的蛮可爱的。
10．    Rex: Honey,I know it's hard to hear, but the marriage counselling may not work out. You need to get used to being alone.
Get used to ：习惯做某事 used to do :过去常常做某事
11．Officer Thompson: I just came by to tell you that I took your evidence into the lab for fingerprints.   Come by:路过，经过   lab:实验室，其实是laboratory的缩写。Fingerprints:指纹
12．Susan: Oh!Uh, you seem like a really sweet guy, in an interesting line of work. But I um I'm not really available. Available:是个很好的词语，很常用，这里解释有空么？其实往往是指一个人想知道对方是单身还是有男女朋友的意思。如果你想约谁出去，就可以这么说“ARE U AVAILABLE ？”
13．Officer Thompson: So you're really turning me down? Boy, my self esteem can't take this.
这里我们又看到了BOY，不是解释男孩的意思，就是语气词。Turn me down:让我很尴尬，很难堪。
Esteem:尊重，尊敬的意思 myself esteem：自尊心
14．    Mike: I screwed up. I broke into the Fome house and almost got caught.
Screwed up:弄糟 事情没办成 get catch:被抓

1X04: WHO'S THAT WOMAN?
1．    Teacher: I hesitate in brining this up, seeing as you got so ugly about it the last time.
Hesitate: 犹豫, 踌躇, 不愿 bring up :提出 ugly；丑陋的，难看的
这句老师的话意思是她真不愿意提起上次发生过的事，可想而知，她的双胞胎儿子在学校有多么顽皮，前一次已经让LYNETTE很难堪了。
2．    Teacher: We can try that. But if it doesn't work, we may no longer be able to accommodate them. Sth doesn’t work:很常用的词组，解释为什么不管用，起不了作用。No longer:不再 accommodate:原意是供应,使适应, 调节的意思，这里解释为教育，管制比较合适。
3．    Gabrielle: That doesn't make any sense. I've seen her driver's licence, it does not say Angela. driver's licence：驾驶证件，在北美，驾照就代表了你的身份，他们没有什么身份证之类的东西，就只有驾照，其实和身份证一样有姓名，年龄，住址，电话等。他们的驾照能派很多用处，你去店里买酒要出示一下，应为美国规定21岁以下不可以买酒。也许你到了法定年龄，但长象颇年轻的时候就要出示下驾照。
4．    Susan: We've all sort of felt it.
Sort of 在DH中非常常见，表示有些的意思。但在FRIENDS中经常出现的词是kind of 常被剩略成kinda，呵呵，可能是拍摄场所不同吧，地点不同，人们的习惯用语也不同。
5．    Julie: I still don't understand why you don't just ask him out on an "official date"
Ask sb out：约某人出去，约会的意思。Official date：正式的约会 official官方的，正式的 date:很常见了吧，就是约会的意思，一个字就可以表示，千万不要说什么make a appointment，那是和医生约好时间看病的意思。
6．    Susan: Well, she's bringing out the big guns.
这就话是SUSAN看到EDIE在洗车时说的一句话，big guns不是什么大的武器的意思，EDIE在那里边洗车边SHOU身材，其实这里可以理解为EDIE使出了她的杀手锏。
7．    Mrs Huber: What has she done this time?
Edie: She is out there throwing herself at Mike Delfino. Again!
Mrs Huber: Susan likes Mike?
Edie: Where the hell have you been, Martha? She's been lusting after him since he moved in.
这段话是EDIE看到自己又败给了SUSAN后，很生气的回到MRS。HUBER的屋内。这里的throw和上次那个throw a party是同一个词，这里不是举办的意思了，而是EDIE说SUSAN投怀送抱的意思。
Lust: 强烈欲望, 渴望
8. Mrs Huber: I can't wait for you to try this, it's mincemeat. Mincemeat: 苹果等切碎混拌碎肉的东西,甜馅

11．Susan: Julie, I don't think they'll throw me in jail. I mean, it was an accident.
Jail:监狱 我们知道的一个单词PRISON也是监狱的意思，但Jail用的比较多。
12．Julie: Dad won't care if it was an accident. You know he'll just use this as an excuse to reopen custody. Mom, I don't want to live with dad. Custody:监护权。JULIE是不希望SUSAN因为此事而去蹲监狱，这样CARL会把对JULIE的监护权争夺回来的。

Limited engagement:限量的意思，sold out:全不卖完，售完的意思

1X03: PRETTY LITTLE PICTURE
1．   MARY ALICE: So, Susan, I was just telling the girls I wanna throw a dinner party.
这里的throw并不解释投掷的意思，而是举办，承办一个PARTY。
2．   CARLOS: I'm trying, but I can't guarantee anything. This is business!
Try to do sth:努力做某事，设法做谋事，但往往做不成功。Guarantee：保证，担保
3．   GABRIELLE: Says the prince as he rides off into the sunset. Boy did the movies ever get that wrong.
这里我们看到的2个次says和boy其实不是原来的意思，says这里是比如，例如，举例子的意思。而BOY是语气词，不用直接翻译过来。Ride off 骑马(或自行车等)而去 sunset：日落 sunrise：日出
4．   TOM: You know what? I haven't even had a chance to unpack yet, honey. I just, uh, I just need to chill out for the next few days.
Unpack；打开行李 chill out: to calm down/go easy/relax解释放松的，轻松的意思
LYNETTE希望TOM一起去参加DINNER PARTY，但TOM似乎不想去，他解释到我刚出差回来，连行李箱都没打开，我只想休息几天。
5．   LYNETTE: Oh. Tom. There'll be liquor. And hors d'oeuvres. And grown-ups without children. And, and silverware. Remember silverware?
Liquor:含酒精的饮料 hors d'oeuvres：一眼就应该知道是法语单词，any of various savory（开胃的菜）foods usually served as appetizers。Silverware确实是解释银器的意思，但这里我觉得引升的意思因该是可口美味的食物，并不是日常生活中一直吃到的。在北美，用餐器具比较普通，象普通的盘子啊，纸杯什么的，那些银制的器皿只有在重要场合才会拿出来使用，而且上面摆放的事物绝对精致，记得在第一集中ANDREW说BREE天天象是在做Cuisine，呵呵，估计BREE用的就是银盘，也让我想到了在FRIENDS中MONICA每年的感恩节才会拿出她宝贵的银盘来，还不允许大家在盘上用刀时发出声音。
6．   TOM: Yeah, honey, I'm sorry. I'm just, I'm wiped out. Three cities in 6 days, my head is just pounding. I'm not ready for a dinner party.
LYNETTE: I already got a sitter.
TOM: Can you cancel her? Please? Look, let's just stay in tomorrow night. We can get a bottle of wine, and rent a video, and I just wanna hang out with my best gal. That's all.
LYNETTE: I was looking so forward to a night out.
wiped out：精疲力竭的 sitter：代人临时看管小孩的人 hang out：和某人在一起，出去闲逛的意思。Be look forward to : ,盼望做什么，长久以来的愿望。
7．   BREE: My backhand's improving immensely, but you're still having problems with your serve. 这里的serve解释为发球
8．   JULIE: I found my dental guard. I' m ready. Dental guard:护牙套，大家应该都知道在美国看牙医是很经常的事，每隔三个月就要去看一次，做牙齿护理什么的，而且每个人都有自己的牙医，这点我觉得国人可以好好象他们学习，我们几乎是没什么牙病跟本不知道去看牙医的，更不会做什么定期检查。但我觉得有一口洁白整齐的牙齿，给人的感觉会很好，笑起来会更自信。
9．   SUSAN: Yeah, well you just go to hell.SUSAN的这句话绝对常用，当某人在生气时常会这么说，意识是你去见上帝吧或者是你去见鬼吧
10．   ZACH: Mrs. Formington said she looked for Mum's obituary, couldn't find it. Did you put one in?   obituary: 讣告 常用词组：put in an obituary.
11．   LYNETTE: You know what, it's not gonna change until you resolve your issues with that man.
SUSAN: What, you mean forgive him?
LYNETTE: Yeah.

SUSAN和LYNETTE在谈起CARL的事，LYNETTE说SUSAN应该快点从中解脱出来，否则她会一直这样下去的。SUSAN的回答很有意思吧，“这些痛苦已经伴随了我太常时间了，若没了它会让我觉得生活很孤独。”我晕，怎么会有真么傻的女人，他的前夫在外面逍遥，而她还惦记着她。嗨。。。。只好叹气，当一段感情结束后，男人可以很快的从中解脱出来，而女人花的时间就太长了。
12．   SUSAN: Thanks for helping me break in. Do you think it's gonna be hard to replace that screen? break in：闯入, 打断，这里是指MIKE帮SUSAN把房门弄开了（SUSAN把自己锁在屋外了）

这里又有个serve与前面那个解释为发球的是同一个单词，这里解释为上餐，在英语中同一个单词，有多众不同的意思，这里2个就是很好的例子，而且这个词很常用。
14．   SUSAN: Okay, I gotta break the ice here. So you're in counselling, big deal. You want humiliation? I'll give you humiliation. I locked myself out of my house stark naked and got caught by Mike. break the ice：打破沉默 gotta ：典型的美国俚语 (=have got to) 必须
15．   LYNETTE: When Tom and I were first married, things got a little out of hand on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Mr.Toad是一个Disney的卡通人物，在国内不是很有名。Mr. Toad's Wild Ride是一部影片，在Disney的主题乐园中经常会有电影中的场景，可以让游人拍照什么的。应该是一个乐园中的场地。
16．   MIKE: You mean, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw soda cans?
字面上解释为在玻璃房中的人不应该仍苏打汽水罐头，其实是用了个比喻，意思是有相同经历或处境的人不应该对此做任何评论。发现MIKE好会说话。
17．   TOM: We are raising little terrorists, you know that, don't you? Terrorists：原意是恐怖分子，呵呵，TOM居然这么形容自己的孩子，知道他们的三个小鬼有多顽皮了吧。

uncalled for：不必要的,不适当的,没有理由的。I'm moving on.很常用的一个句子，当人在遭遇不幸或者是分手等等影响人们心情的事后，如果你克服了，如果你度过了最困难的，那就可以用这句话，说明自己已经重新振作起来了，开始一段新的生活。
19．   DR. GOLDFINE: I'm very sorry to hear that, but unfortunately, I'm completely booked right now. 这里的Book大家应该都知道是预定，预约的意思，在美国也够可怕的，连看医生都要预约时间，听一个美国的朋友说，如果是看急诊，也要等很常时间，你在那里难过死也没人理你，除非你真要死了，医生看得出病情有多严重。让我想起了FRIENDS中有集ROSS被棒球打破鼻子了，JOEY陪他去医院看医生，等了4个多小时都没轮到他们。呵呵，估计ROSS的血早就自己凝固了。
